Spaces

Rangøya island is 500 meters long with seven homes. The Cultural Centre is situated in what was once the main building of the fisherman’s farm and encompasses the western part of the island.

The residence

The main building of the Centre hosts artist residencies for writers, translators, and other creative practitioners.
It contains four bedrooms with desks, a spacious kitchen and living room, a workroom with two desks, and a small library.
The house has Wi-Fi, two bathrooms, and laundry facilities including a washing machine and dryer.

The barn

Once the upper floor held hay and the lower sheltered animals.
Now the barn serves as a house for gatherings: the main room is a venue suitable for cultural events for up to fifty people, equipped with a PA system and video projector. It is also excellent for seminars, courses, and project meetings. Downstairs there is a kitchen and space for smaller gatherings and shared meals.

The outdoors

The Centre is situated within the Rangøya public recreational area, which includes a bathing place, a fishing spot, a small child-friendly beach, a beach-volleyball court, a small football field, walking paths, and even a tiny chapel.
